TO create is to make something out of nothing. Our creations are our children just as our children are our creations. However at some point during our creative process the creation takes on a life and character of its own. Then we have to remember the words of Khalil Gibran.
“Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.”
“The Prophet” (Gibran, 1993)
This might be a difficult thing for the ego to swallow. For many of us letting go of what we have so laboriously brought into this world whether it be our art or our children can be just as difficult as the creation process itself. But the Universe suggests that this is a natural process. Free Will given to us by whomever our creator happens to be is evidence of this. What is also evidenced is that allowing ourselves to let go of our creations and sharing them with the world is a process that enables us to create even more and in many different ways.
Fascinating entities, our children, whether they are art, music, poetry, song, or little people. What they give to us is the realization that the world and ourselves are continuous and eternal. By releasing them we give credence to the truth that it takes a village to raise a child.
So I ask you how have your creative expression been flowing lately. If you are finding that you have been a little stagnated, there might be many reasons for that. For example hard transits to your Sun or Mercury or in your 5th or 3rd houses or, it could simply be that the inability to let go and share what is already there but that you may consciously or unconsciously consider to be solely, intimately and only yours (interpreted by planets, aspects and transits in your 8th house or Neptune in your 5th house) is blocking the birthing channel and preventing more from being released.
Now! Take a step back, and have a look at all the things that you have done and have created… everything! From a simple cupcake you just baked to that brilliant girl or boy that is just waiting for you to tell her or him that it is ok to go and be involved in their world. Then you will probably realize that there is so much more left inside you, waiting to come out! So go ahead and unblock your creative birth channel.
“If you let it go… more will come!”
When we finally let go of our children, they bring us grandchildren!
